Located at the Northernmost spot in Greece, Thassos island is only few km from Greece mainland (7km). Its quite a big island with a population of about, 13000 all year along except summer season which the numbers increasing due to tourism.

Thassos is considered as one of the most beautiful islands of Greece, with its thick pine woods and the golden to white sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise water it offers the visitor a unique tranquil experience in terms of enjoying the many different beaches and also its rich, full of green nature that surrounds the island for hiking and exploring.

What is interesting about Thassos is that most of the visitors, especially those who go for family vacations, revisit the island many times and also many of them buy properties and spend their summer there.

Keep in mind, if you ever visited other Greek Islands like Cyclades, Dodecanese. Thassos is NOT like them in terms of aesthetic scenery. Thassos nature is fully rich with pine woods and all kind of Green landscape, and its mountain “Ypsario” host many small and graphic traditional villages with old stone houses and great taverns with local delicious surprises.

You will find all the amenities you may need for vacations like beach bars, restaurants , taverns, fast food , ATM’s, Markets, Taxi services, Hospital, that every modern island can offer. On top of that, luxurious hotels and Vilas are also available for more demanding visitors.

How to get here

You can visit the island by ferries either from KERAMOTI either from KAVALA. The main difference of the two is the more frequent ferries from KERAMOTI port and the distance is again shorter. So from KERAMOTI port you will find more frequent, cheaper and less time consuming trips to the island ( 30 Minutes).
KAVALA port do offer ferry drops to THASSOS but they are not so frequent ,they take longer (75 min) and are more expensive comparing with KERAMOTI. But if you stay in KAVALA and want to visit THASSOS you should consider this option also.
